After we titration (gradually advancing the jaw forward) of an oral appliance it is necessary to test to see how well the appliance is working. This is usually done at a sleep lab. We may also send you home with the ARES Home Monitor, for this purpose. (Your choice!). The ARES is described below. You can also visit: www.watermarkmedical.com for more information
Available through physicians, dentists, sleep clinics and hospitals, Watermark Medical, LLC, (WM), offers the first and only automated end-to-end service for the diagnosis and treatment of sleep breathing disorders through a home sleep testing. web-based portal ARES™, our FDA-cleared, state-of-the-art, wireless ambulatory sleep test device, and the proprietary WM Home Sleep Testing solution, are marketed through a direct sales force and national distributor network of sales representatives.
The ARES technology and proprietary WM Web portal are unique and significantly less costly compared to current sleep medicine practices. Patients wear the ARES™ on the forehead and sleep in their own bed at home. The device is usually worn for one night, but can acquire and store up to three nights of nocturnal data. The small size allows it to be comfortably worn in all sleep positions.
Physicians and/or Dentists prescribe and obtain the sleep study data and can utilize the WM national network of board-certified sleep medicine professionals to interpret the sleep studies. Sleep centers help manage follow-up testing and qualified DME partners help provide therapy.
Patient therapy and ongoing compliance are easily administered through the WM Web portal tracking system; those who may fail one type of OSA therapy are identified and recommended for alternative care. The WM solution is a significant improvement over existing options for managing long-term OSA patient care.
